The Alps are at risk! The Alpine space loses its importance as economic territory, the agriculture in mountain areas is weakening and the climate change will bring unforeseen transformations and new challenges. How will be the irrigation of meadows and pastures once the glaciers will disappear? How can we safeguard the traditions, languages and the entire cultural heritage? How will tourism refocus once the snow will fail to appear in winter time?
The exhibition in the World Nature Forum in the Aletsch Camp in Naters will tackle with these and similar questions. Even more: a unique visitor, study and congress center will be established, encircling the World Heritage Region Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch.
The visitors of the World Nature Forum will receive an overview of the site, will get acquainted and will understand the high alpine scenery with its exciting history and its natural and cultural landscapes. The exhibition is designed as base camp of the World Heritage site and the visitors will receive the basic insights for his visit to the property. They will be confronted in a spectacular exhibition with thrilling films, interactive experience stations, infographics and artefacts. His exploratory mind will be challenged with key questions associated to the use of the natural heritage. The Panorama space will be the highlight of the exhibition, with a screen of 100 square meters, where spectacular movies from the World Heritage will excite the visitors.
