Steigle

On the way from the Belalp to Aletschji a steep step must be overcome shortly after the Hotel Belalp. To cope with this section of the trail with the sheep safely, our ancestors built an impressive zigzag path into the steep couloir. Here the proven technology of dry wall construction was used, which maintains till today thanks to its robustness.

At the annual Alpine Sunday a particular spectacle is offered, when hundreds of animals return on the “Steigle” from the Aletschji to the Aletschbord like pulled on a string through the trail.
