Immerse yourself in the World Heritage: a one-day programme awaits you to spend with family or friends in the world of the fossils!
Visit the Museum of fossils of Monte San Giorgio with a guide. Renovated and expanded by Ticino architect Mario Botta, it displays a collection of animal and plant fossils from the extraordinary deposits of Monte San Giorgio, a UNESCO World Heritage property. On four floors, the museum presents a variety of creatures that populated the sea and the coast of southern Ticino at that time. Illustrations, models, 3D animations, augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) make this vanished world, whose fossils have been recovered, prepared and scientifically described by Swiss and Italian experts since 1850, comprehensible for the visitor.
Simplified audio guides are also available (CHF 3.- per person).
