From Grindelwald or Lauterbrunnen, take the Wengernalp Railway or the Eiger Express and Jungfrau Railways to Jungfraujoch at 3,454 m above sea level. Starting at Europe's highest railway station, the trail first takes you through the Sphinxstollen (Sphinx Tunnel). Once out of the tunnel, you continue to the hut on foot, via the Jungfraufirn Glacier. It takes about an hour. The route is snow-covered but signposted. The hut is accessible to everyone – including children – not just experienced alpinists.
Although the trail traverses the glacier, it is groomed daily by a snow groomer and is clearly marked. However, you must not leave the trail under any circumstances. Sturdy shoes and clothing suitable for the windy and cold conditions are essential. The hike is not recommended when there is fog, thunderstorms or strong winds.
Please adhere to the safety instructions and updates about accessibility on the Jungfraujoch.
