This hike offers lots of variety and takes you from Wengernalp, where you can enjoy magnificent views of the glaciers on the flanks of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, and over Wyssi Flue to the Trümmelbach and to unspoilt Biglenalp. From there, the trail continues through forest and across lush Alpine meadows to Mettla.
Next, you will come to a dense fir forest in the Stalden area. Now and then, spectacular views of the valley floor will reveal themselves at the foot of the cliff face, which is about 800 m high here. You will then pass through the Indrischtweid and the upper Schiltwald area to reach the village of Wengen.
If you want to continue descending, you have the option of walking from Wengen to Lauterbrunnen via Wengwald. You should plan an extra 1 hour and 25 minutes of walking for this additional section.
