The World Heritage Days offer unique insights into the diverse natural and cultural treasures of Switzerland and allow views that are otherwise often denied to visitors.

The museum of fossils of Monte San Giorgio invites you to an exciting adventure for children: ‘A Sunday for palaeontologists’! Accompanied by trained guides from the UNESCO World Heritage property, kids will embark on an exciting journey into a 240-million-year-old tropical lagoon.
📌 Visit to the Acqua del Ghiffo palaeontological excavation site - a journey of discovery to a place where thousands of fossils have been found
📌 Visit to the Carpanee classroom - an open-air museum in the forest with fossils and reconstructions of animals from the Triassic period
📌 Become a palaeontologist yourself - excavate, discover and be amazed!
🚩 Meeting point: Museum of fossils of Monte San Giorgio in Meride
🚶 Hike: approx. 45 minutes (3 km, 60 m difference in altitude)
👟 Equipment: Sturdy shoes and weather-appropriate clothing required
🌧 Bad weather: The excursion will not take place if it rains
