Tectonic Arena Sardona

GeoGallery Flumserberg

Discover fossils, feel and see the mighty power of Alpine folding up close!

There is a lot to marvel at for young and old on the approximately 4 km long high-altitude trail. Lined up like in an art gallery, you can marvel at, touch and experience fossils and weathering phenomena on the high-altitude trail.

At over 15 stations, visitors gain an exciting insight into the formation of the Alps and the power of tectonics, as well as general and interesting information about geology. The trail starts at the Maschgenkamm mountain station and circles the "Ziger". The second section of the trail, which is suitable for baby carriages, leads from the Maschgenkamm in serpentines down to the Maschgenlücke and from there on level terrain to the Prodkamm mountain station. Along the way, "tectonic" loungers or benches invite you to enjoy the fantastic panoramic views (including the Churfirsten and Lake Walen).

In addition, there is a rest area with a fireplace along the way for a cozy picnic or campfire. A dreamlike place in the Tectonic Arena Sardona, which was awarded with the nomination as World Heritage Site as the best place in the world for its visibility of the alpine mountain formation.
