Hikes
Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch

At the foot of the Eiger

This enchanting hike starts off at Männlichen mountain station. From there, it goes to Kleine Scheidegg via Honegg and Rotstecki. You then continue and ascend to the Eigergletscher station along Fallboden in the direction of Loucherflue. Accompanying you on your walk will be the omnipresent triumvirate of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau mountains.

Once you get to Eigergletscher station, you follow the Eiger Trail. Adolf Gsteiger carved out the path on the steep slopes below the Eiger alone in just 39 days using a shovel, pick and crowbar. He was 62 at the time. He wanted to create something that others would be able to enjoy for years to come. He certainly succeeded, because the mountain trail traces an idyllic, winding path through the picturesque landscape, past mountain streams and bizarre rock formations. The majestic Eiger North Face is so close here that you can feel its mysterious aura.

The Eiger Trail takes around two and a half hours, taking you from Eigergletscher station down to Alpiglen.
