Terraces stabilised with dry‑stone walls were laboriously created in order to cultivate the land. People coaxed from the barren soil whatever it could offer. Some of these terraces can today only be guessed at, while others have been carefully restored and replanted. For example, fruit trees for everyone – Fruttipertutti © – stand there as a symbol of the “100% Valposchiavo” label: locally grown and locally consumed. The short but fairly demanding panoramic circular trail “Runchett da Sotsassa” passes by them. Later, the path also crosses a bridge and leads to several viewpoints offering magnificent vistas of Poschiavo.
