Farmhouse- Rue du Nord 110

During the 18th century, the traditional dwelling in the Neuchâtel Mountains was a farm, of which one part was reserved for cattle and the other for the family. Several watchmakers began their career in this type of house, and in particular Pierre Jaquet-Droz (1721-1790). Like nearly all the houses in La Chaux-de-Fonds at a certain period, this former farm - dating from 1648 but converted in the 18th century - housed activities related to watchmaking. A certain Henri Haueter worked there as an independent engraver around 1913.
