Hinterrhein Bridge

The gateway to the UNESCO World Heritage route of the Rhaetian Railway.

Today, a concrete tied-arch bridge with double track. The original steel bridge with an 80-meter span had to make way for the construction of the motorway. Now, the crossing is made via a dual-lane prestressed concrete bridge.

The location of the Rhine bridge reflects a compromise in the route planning from 1896, when the municipality wanted the station as close to the village as possible.
